Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis)

A liquid wax drawn from the seeds of a desert shrub. It is near in nature to the oil of the skin itself, and therefore is received readily, leaving the flesh soft and supple without heaviness.

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)

A fragrant herb of the mint family, long grown in gardens and fields. Its sweet and clean scent hath been prized for bringing a sense of calm and quiet to the spirit.

Frankincense (Boswellia sacra)

The precious resin of trees from the lands of the East, even that which the wise men brought. It lendeth a deep, warm, and holy fragrance, and hath been used from ancient days in anointing and in quiet contemplation.

Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile)

A low-growing daisy of the field, milder than its German sister. Its apple-like scent and gentle nature have long been valued for bringing ease and comfort to both skin and spirit.

Vetiver (Chrysopogon zizanioides)

An oil distilled from the roots of a tall grass. Its deep, earthy, and grounding fragrance is as the scent of the soil after rain, and is used to steady and center the heart.

Wash the feet and dry them well. Take a small portion of this salve and anoint the soles, the heels, and the tops of the feet, rubbing it in with a gentle hand until it is received. Give special care to places that are dry or weary.

This may be done at evening, or at the close of the day before rest. After anointing, it is well to cover the feet with clean cotton stockings, that the goodness of the salve may remain upon the skin through the night.
